Jennifer J. Hagan, Esq. is a partner in The Hagan Law Firm, Inc. Her practice areas include assisting and advising startup corporations, corporate formation, representation, and business law. It also encompasses counseling, transactions, enforcement and litigation of entertainment, new media, intellectual property, technology, negotiating and preparation of development agreements, contracts, employment termination and separation agreements, and transactional agreements. Ms. Hagan also represents clients involved in equine law related matters, including but not limited to sales and leases of race or performance horses, stallion service contracts, trainers contracts, boarding and real property agreements, and LLC and syndications for racehorse ownership.

In the intellectual property arena, Jennifer focuses on copyright, trademark and trade secret law. She has particular strength with IP issues in development agreements and new media technologies. She also helps avoid litigation by counseling clients about protecting their intellectual property rights.

In the entertainment and new media arena, she advises clients about technology transactions; game development, software development and negotiates agreements for literary works; talent deals; celebrity endorsement, book and periodical publishing deals; and production-related transactions for entertainment projects.

Public Service and Board Activities:
Jennifer serves as the Secretary and Executive Board Member of CARMA, (California Racehorse Management Account) which is a new charitable non-profit organization which raises fund for racehorse retirement in California. CARMA receives funding from racehorse owners through deduction from purses and through fund raising events, and then redistributes those funds to existing 501c3 organizations in California which retire and retrain Thoroughbred racehorses for a new career. This is the first type of organization in the United States to receive approval from a state racing authority to receive purse money from the owners directly. www.Carma4horses.org

Jennifer also serves as an active Board Member for the Committee of Green Foothills (March 2006 through Present). CGF is a legal advocacy non-profit environmental organization which works to protect open spaces and greenscapes in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.

Jennifer also serves as an active Board Member of the Tazzla Institute for Cultural Diversity. Tazzla is dedicated to educating the public and heightening awareness of the Berber culture. Tazzla sponsors the Los Angeles Amazigh Film Festival.

Jennifer provides Pro Bono legal services to the Santa Clara Valley Humane Society, and was an inaugural member of and served on the Parks and Recreation Commission for the City of Palo Alto for 6 years (2000-2005).
